AdSense

You probably noticed that I sold my soul to the devil. I have ads on my blog now. It’s really an experiment more than anything else. I want to see how they work.

The wonders of SEO optimization have come a long way since I started doing websites. Excite was still been a major search site when I started doing websites, though. Yahoo took over, and then Google. And so it goes.

I now have ads embedded in the HTML site, and also the Feedburner (RSS) version. Yes, I had to convert from my own feed generated from this here blog to the fancy Feedburner thing.

I am also using the Google AdSense search bar, but I have it set to only search my site. I don’t mind the way the AdSense ads look, but the search results box is pretty horrifying. I haven’t figured out how to update the CSS or JavaScript to make it look better.

  • update: There are ads in the search results. At least if I search for something that is not found. Hmmmmm.

I do not expect to make a million dollars, but I am curious to see how it does perform. Who knows, maybe it will keep the lights running on my Dreamhost VPS.

One can hope.
